A Vision for the Future: 2iC-Care Integrates PacSana's TEC Solution

Alex Fulcher | 05 Jun, 2024 |

2iC-Care are pleased to announce another key care peripheral integration! We are proud to be connected to the innovative PacSana solution. PacSana is a Smart bracelet and Remote Care Platform custom built for older adults.

PacSana and 2iC-Care are united in their mission to modernise care delivery for the analogue to digital switchover and beyond! Mark Nolan, CTO at PacSana says:

The digital switchover presents an opportunity for change—a chance to redefine how we care for our aging population. At PacSana, we share the same vision for personalised, preventative care that drives 2iC-Care.”

Revolutionising Care with Intelligent Technology

Andi is a comprehensive digital care platform designed to provide better care outcomes by combining personalised care packages, proactive monitoring, and extensive device interoperability. Andi aims to transform the way care is delivered, making it more efficient, responsive, and tailored to individual needs. The platform's open technology infrastructure allows interoperability with multiple device types, ensuring flexibility and adaptability in care delivery.

The PacSana Smart Bracelet is a waterproof wearable with a 300-day battery life. PacSana supports fall detection and has an alert button but the solution focusses on prevention, using unique metrics to prompt the right care intervention before an emergency occurs.

2iC-Care Founder and CEO Richard Keyse commented

“The care sector has been desperate for open & interoperable solutions for years to provide greater choice, remove supplier dependencies, and enable personalised care. This is a great example where 2iC-Care and PacSana have both embraced this model, where together, we will provide a better solution to care providers and service users.”

Delivering Preventative Care

The key metrics that the PacSana Smart Bracelet shares with the PacSana and Andi platforms to aid preventative care are:

Gait speed

Measuring gait speed enables fall prevention measures such to be correctly targeted. Slower gait speed or irregularities in walking patterns can be indicators of an increased risk of falls, particularly in older adults. Identifying individuals at higher risk can lead to interventions that prevent falls and related injuries.

Active Minutes

Measuring the active minutes will communicate to carers whether the service user is moving enough to complete Activities of Daily Living. If not, it could be an indication that care or further support is needed.

Sleep

Poor sleep, as well as excessive sleep is an indicator that a person may require medical intervention.

Innovating Care for the Future

In response to this integration, 2iC-Care Founder and CEO Richard Keyse said:

“The care sector has been desperate for open & interoperable solutions for years to provide greater choice, remove supplier dependencies, and enable personalised care. This is a great example where 2iC-Care and PacSana have both embraced this model, where together, we will provide a better solution to care providers and service users.”

Mark Nolan from PacSana, continued to say that:

“In 2024, it’s time to move beyond reactive solutions and embrace a new era of preventative care. That’s why we were drawn to Andi—a flexible care platform that offers excellent connectivity for the PacSana Remote Care Platform. Andi’s open architecture enables care providers to leverage best-in-class technology from multiple vendors. No longer limited by outdated emergency buttons, they’re equipped to anticipate care needs and deliver personalised solutions.”
